Dear ciberfriends, Bébédamãe will now, after mény requests (ok.. he nose the blog is not that popular... :) , right something in english.. even better. In american. About american bestsellers. The other day Bébédamãe red the Levitt/Dubner"economy for freaks" and the Friedman"the world is not round anymore" and he couldn't help thinkink about the super Gorila chewinggumx... (Bébédamãe writtes in english but cannot help to promote the portuguese culture!..) you know.. these chewing-gums that have a really very nice and strong flavour in the begginning, but it is gone after 2 minutes... the point is that in both books the first chapter is the best!! After you read it you think: ouaaaauuuu!! This book must be really good!! and then you go on to the next chapter and you start saying.. humm, ok... not bad, maybe the next one is as good as the first... and so on until the last one (if you are persistant..). Bébédamãe has deeply thought about this phoenomena and came to a very simple conclusion... the main purpose of these books is to sell! Their authors estimate the time people spend reading before buying them and make sure that at least for that while the book is very good! :) What do you think?? :) Anyway, Bébédamãe has no reservation whatsoever in recommending you to go to Valentim de Carvalho (even those that are not in Portugal) and read these two first chapters!! they are really really good and who knows you'll buy the books!! :) Gritings!
